Siblings of special needs children enjoy Hollywood week of fun

Brentwood SNAP kids enjoy day jumping

Brentwood charity SNAP (Special Needs And Parents) understands that having a child with special needs has a huge effect on the whole family and often it is the siblings who miss out on so much.

SNAP celebrated its tenth annual SIBS4FUN event last week with a movies-themed week of fun activities, from shooting their own adverts to circus skills with giant bubble making, all culminating in the Oscars awards complete with red carpet.

Besides the fun of the movies, the four-day event included the biggest inflatable assault course ever seen at SIBS4FUN, Clubbercise, African drumming, and silly sports - which is always a highlight for the children.

Manager at the charity, Karen Boath, said: "Siblings can experience challenges that other children do not and they regularly find themselves in situations that can be difficult to manage; situations such as dealing with a brother or sister's challenging behaviour or coping with feeling embarrassed in public when people stare.
